Heh i shall continue today..well its a sub sim but it can simulate large scale naval battles fairly accurately..i pitted 2 Carrier Battle Groups (CVBGs) against each other, one Russian, one American..

The US CVBG consisted of the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), 2 Ticonderoga class guided missile cruisers, USS Ticonderoga(CG 47) and USS Bunker Hill (CG 52), 4 Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) class guided missile destroyers, and 2 Seawolf class nuclear submarines, USS Seawolf (SSN 21) and USS Connecticut (SSN 22).

The Russian CVBG consisted of the aircraft carrier RFS Kuznetsov, the nuclear battle cruiser RFS Kirov, another guided missile cruiser the RFS Slava..4 guided missile destroyers, the RFS Kara, RFS Kashin, RFS Udaloy and the RFS Sovremenny, and 2 Oscar-class guided missile nuclear submarines (SSGNs)

Well the battle started out with the submarines of both sides firing off their long range anti-ship missiles, the Seawolfs firing the TASM, Tomahawk anti ship missiles, with a range of 250 nautical miles, a 500kg warhead and moves at 500 knots at sea skimming level, and the Oscars firing off their high altitude SS-N-19 Shipwreck cruise missiles with a range of 300 n.m., a 750kg warhead and has a speed of 1500 knots. After that, both sides started firing their main anti ship missiles, the US ships firing the RGM-84 Harpoon, and the Russian ships firing a mix of SS-N-19s, SS-N-12 and SS-N-22 Anti ship missiles. Soon after, the US Guided missile ships started firing off their SM-2 Surface to air missiles (SAMs) to intercept the incoming high speed SS-N-19 missiles, many being shot down but 3 of them and 1 SS-N-22 hit the 2 front DDGs despite the many layers of missile defenses and sank them..the salvo of US anti ship missiles took much longer to reach their targets due to their slower flight speed, but the russian anti missile systems were not as good as the Americans, and 2 TASMs and 1 Harpoon hit the RFS Kara and sank it..1 Harpoon hit the Udaloy and another hit the Russian Carrier, damaging the flight deck and making it unusable.

Then the USS Nimitz launched several F/A-18 Hornets and all but 2 of them got shot down by Russian Naval SAMs before getting in missile range, and they fired their missiles at the Russian Carrier. 2 AGM-65s and one AGM-88 hit the carrier, and left it heavily burning but still floating. The 2 F/A-18s were then shot down by SAMs..the Russians then fired their remaining anti ship missiles at the Americans, who had no more anti ship missiles, the americans expended their anti missile SAM magazines at the missiles.. but still some missiles got through and sank the Nimitz, Ticonderoga and Bunker Hill..only 2 Arleigh Burke DDGs, 1 damaged by a SS-N-12 Sandbox missile, and the 2 Seawolfs survived..the Russians then closed in and they engaged each other in gun battles, the americans sinking the RFS Udaloy and damaging the RFS Sovremenny and the RFS Kashin while the Russians sank both destroyers and one of the Oscars killed the Seawolf with a 65cm torpedo, and the USS Connecticut went deep, before coming above the thermal layer and it torpedoed the other Oscar and torpedoed the RFS Kuznetsov carrier and sank both of them, before bring torpedoed by the RFS Kirov..

oh well in real life it would have been different, because the game din simulate the US AEGIS radar system well, and if they did, the US Guided missile ships would have knocked out almost every Russian missile 3 mins after launch, till their SAM magazines run empty or something..oh well..
BYEBYE
